‘Password123 - Save your data’ is a serious game that teaches basic
knowledge about data topics of data protection and data security. The
hacker Cha0s has infiltrated into the computer and stole all the data.
With the help of a time reverser, users can go back in time and have
the chance to fix the security holes before Cha0s can gain access to
the data.
The players have to fight their way through four levels in order to
regain control and save their data. In the first step, they learn what
a secure password looks like. Afterwards, users learn what phishing
emails are and how to identify them. The third level is 2-factor
authentication and in the last section they will learn how to prevent
third party tracking.
In each level, the users have to solve tasks of increasing difficulty.
The game uses various learning methods to deepen the users' knowledge.
For example, there are quiz questions that test what has been learned,
or there are interactive tasks where users have to do things
themselves. The aspect of playful learning also plays a special role:

The serious game was released in December 2022, at the end of the Digital Campus Lower Saxony project, in the context of which the game was conceived. The Digital Campus is a project of the state of Lower Saxony with the aim of teaching and improving basic digital skills. To this end, educational offers were developed and state-wide events were held.
